Dutch Iris and Company
24×24 oil on gallery wrapped canvas
Flowers from my garden are such an inspiration. I set up my easel and a still life and spent the morning mapping this out. The light changes quickly, so I have to work quickly. I actually started this last April and have painted on it making small adjustments throughout the year. This painting is filled with texture and the colors I love.

Lily Life
My wonderful husband knows I love to receive flowers on Valentines Day. He is fateful in this annual tradition. This is a still life from a past Valentine’s Day arrangement. I started a still life series working in acrylics last year. It was a fun challenge.
I will have this and a variety of paintings at a Pop Up Show with Heron House Gallery, March 9th. Save the date and watch for more details to follow.

Sweet and Sour
6x6 Acrylic on canvas
When my mother in law was declining with Alzheimer’s, we all too our turn sitting with her. I set this up in the dining room and attempted to paint it during one of my shifts. I never finished that one, but wanted to revisit this set up. It reminded me of the sweet time I was able to spend with her. She was a blessing to our family.

My garden is a great source of inspiration. I love planting geraniums in this clay pot for the warm colors and great shadow effects.
During the month of February I am highlighting paintings with a splash of red in them. This is also to remind you of a group show I am participating in with the Lake Granbury Art Association. This is not part of the show, but is still available for purchase.
