Asters in the Garden 8x10 oil on canvas
This was inspired from the Master's Garden in Granbury. I choice this path to highlight the cool colors of the aster and roses. Spending time in this garden makes me happy. I find a painting everywhere I turn.

Gift of the Iris Garden 8x10 oil on canvas
The iris garden in the front yard of this small house and the rising sun caught my eye. The brilliant yellow of these lacy flowers were fun to capture on canvas. This bright spot is located near downtown Fort Worth and is in an industrial section of the city.

Hot Pink Cactus 14x18 oil on wood panel
This was inspired from a trip to Big Bend. The array of colors in the desert were surprising. The deep colors are intensified after long periods of no rain. They come in a rainbow of colors. Eye candy!

Misty Morning24x20 oil on canvas
I was drawn to the coolness of the landscape and the warm morning light. The small creek leads you to the distant hill side. This was created using the palette knife, building texture one layer at a time.

From Amy's Garden
12x9 oil on wood panel
I snagged more of my neighbor, Amy's sunflowers. I set up this still life in the sun. The heat from the sun will melt the flowers, so I worked fast. Pre-mix paints and a palette knife help with the process.

Sunny Ones 11x14 oil on wood panel
I love to change up the surface I paint on and using a wood panel coated with a few layers of gesso is just what I need for a little challenge. My neighbor let me pick some of her sunflowers to create this little still life. I was inspired.

Iris Garden in Bloom 20x24 oil on canvas
I get excited with I see iris flowers in bloom. Their delicate colors and petals remind me of my Mother- in-law. She had a large garden of iris of every color. They lined her front yard and were beautiful. My inspiration for this was from painting at the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens in the spring time.

I created this at the Ft Worth Botanical Gardens in Ft Worth. I was thrilled to return here again while the iris garden was in full bloom. I met the volunteers that maintain the gardens.
