It is great to have friends that will wake up early just too paint. We met at Rough Creek park Friday morning to get a head start before the heat kicked in. Even though we had to battle a strong breeze and had to hold onto our easels for dear life, we had a blast painting together under the shade trees.

I created this as a study for my demo at the anniversary party at Dutch Art Gallery. I always like to be prepared and ready to paint and talk at the same time. I premix my paint before leaving the house too.

A Field of Smiles

This sunny painting is part of my Solo Artist at Barons Wine Tasting room in Granbury, Texas. The show runs December 2nd thru January 5th. Meet the artist on December 28th 4-7. They are open from noon-10pm located on the Granbury Square. Take in the sites of beautiful square and stop by for a sip and viewing.

I was fortunate to paint giant sunflowers on location this year. I have been painting them in my dreams ever since. I was looking for patterns, shapes and movement in this landscape. Using a palette to introduce texture and color in the sky is what I imagined.

Dreamy Landscape

This is a commissioned painting I recently completed and delivered. She had a vision based on one of my paintings she viewed at The Dutch Art Gallery. (pictured included)

It was a honor to work with her and bring her vision to life.

Bridge Garden

This foot bridge is located at the Chandor Gardens in Weatherford, Texas. I embellished the garden flowers with exaggerated brush strokes. I used the palette knife, but the majority of it was painted with a brush one block at a time. I love the fun result.
